Unfortunately, they are very common issues in golf.
Partly because it is a very challenging game.
Another big cause of these issues is a poor balance between Process Focus and Results Focus.
- If you put too much Focus on achieving results and not enough Focus on enjoying the process of improvement you will be much more prone to frustration, burnout and needing to take time off.
This is also true in daily life.
When you Focus only on where you want to get to... you are going to get disappointed a lot.
Especially if you are not moving as quickly as you would like toward your goals (expectation).
The antidote?
1. Focus on enjoying the Process of playing and practicing.
2. Set small achievable challenges along the way.
You will move steadily towards your goals and be a lot happier in the process.
Focusing on getting in the zone/flow state on a regular basis is a powerful tool for helping you make this happen.
